Welcome to volomoto.com

Firstly, if you're new to this site let me explain that we are not eco nuts, but we do believe in living in a more sustainable way and minimising our impact on the planet. We also believe that in order to minimise our impact we don't have to suffer either physically or financially, and in fact you can save money in the process.

Having said that we're not eco nuts, that doesn't mean we are not concerned about the Volomoto Online Storeenvironment, global warming and climate change. There isn't much a tiny little organisation like us can do about it, but what we can do is not make it any worse.e-max electric scooter

There are issues much deeper than the usual "eco babble" you hear about in the media to contend with, and switching to electric transportation has many more benefits than are typically stated. In the current economic climate the cost of oil is a major factor for all of us, but did you ever stop to think why oil is going up in price. It's the most simple principal of economics, supply and demand, in the case of oil demand is outpacing supply causing the price of oil to rise. Oil is also running out, and at an ever increasing rate, but when the oil is gone it will not only be combustion engine driven vehicles that stop. Razor E300 Stand-on ScooterMany pharmaceuticals, plastics and solvents are made from oil and their production will stop too, yet we continue to burn it just to release the energy.

I've heard many arguments against electric vehicles, they're slow, have limited range and take ages to charge. Some of that is true for some vehicles, but it's not true for all vehicles. I also hear the argument that electricity just moves CO2 production elsewhere, well that may be true, but you're not getting the whole picture. EDF Engery publishes their CO2 production for each kWh of electricity generated and it came to just 59.1g. To put that into a real-life scenario, to travel 10,000 miles on a 50cc scooter will use around 4,500 kWh of petrol and generate 1,100 kg of CO2. To travel the same distance on an E-Max 110S electric scooter will use 625 kWh, and only generate 37 kg of CO2. Oh, and the E-Max 110S will cost you between £1,000 and £2,000 less to run over a three year period - including buying it. For more information about these figures click here.

Volomoto has been set up to be an electric vehicle retailer and service centre providing a one-stop-shop for all your needs from helmets, footwear and clothing to bikes, parts, servicing and insurance. Initially we are concentrating on all vehicles up to but not including cars, but as we grow we will add cars and commercial vehicles to our product range.
